Refund & Cancellation

How this applies to what we sell

human-seo sells SEO services as one-off projects (e.g. SEO Audit & Strategy) and as ongoing monthly retainers (e.g. Technical SEO, On-Page & Content SEO, Local SEO, Digital PR & Link Building, AI Search Visibility, and the three Full-Service packages). No online payment is taken on this site (see Terms) — the terms below apply to invoiced engagements agreed after a written quote.

One-off projects (e.g. SEO Audit & Strategy)

  • Before work starts: you may cancel a confirmed one-off project free of charge at any time up until we begin the work described in your quote.
  • Once work has started: because a one-off project like the audit is delivered as a single piece of work over a short, fixed period (typically 3 weeks), work already carried out is chargeable in proportion to what's been delivered, and the remainder is not invoiced if you cancel partway through.
  • Completed and delivered one-off work (e.g. a delivered roadmap document) is not refundable once delivered, in the same way a finished professional report can't reasonably be "returned."

Retainer services

  • All retainer services carry a 3-month minimum term from the start date confirmed in your quote.
  • After the minimum term, you may cancel with 30 days' written notice, effective to the end of the calendar month in which notice expires.
  • Monthly fees already invoiced for work carried out are not refunded; no further monthly fees are charged once cancellation takes effect.
  • We may also pause or adjust a retainer by mutual written agreement (e.g. a seasonal pause) — this is handled case by case, not as an automatic right.

Statutory right of withdrawal (Widerrufsrecht) — consumers only

If you are contracting with us as a private consumer (not as a business), German and EU consumer law gives you a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal from the date the contract is concluded, without giving a reason. To exercise it, tell us clearly (e.g. by email to support@human-seo.com) before the 14 days expire.

Important: if you ask us to begin work before the 14 days are up, you acknowledge that we may start immediately, and you may owe a proportionate amount for work already carried out if you then withdraw — consistent with § 357a BGB. This right does not apply to business (B2B) engagements, which make up the large majority of our client relationships.

EU Online Dispute Resolution

The European Commission provides an Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. We are not obliged, and do not currently offer, to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
